4 Ways to Stay Fit Over the Holidays

The holidays are a great time to rest, relax and connect with family. Having a balance between eating well, training hard, and indulging a bit is important. If you do not want to throw your fitness routine out of the window, we will show you how you can stay on track.





It's all about balance. So go ahead - have that grandma's best or sweet potato pie but balance it out with a morning jog or a quick hotel room workout. If you’d like to take your healthy act on the road, here are some ways to maintain your momentum:

1. Go for a Jog or Take a Long Walk While you are home for the holidays in the morning go for a walk on your own or with family. Remember that any small workout it better than none.

2. Do an at Home Workout

At BBT Fitness we offer programs through TrainHeroic and Trainerize that include homework. Homework can be done without equipment! So no worries. We know it’s not as great as our gym, but you can get a good workout in at home until you return back to BBT Fitness. If you are not yet a member of our coaching program Here are a few other great at-home workouts:

  • 100 jumping jacks, 75 air squats, 50 push-ups, 25 burpees

  • 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps: burpees, squats

  • 10 rounds: 10 pushups, 10 sit-ups, 10 squats

3. Drink more Water Staying hydrated will help it so you are eating more when you're actually thirsty.

4. Indulge Intelligently You can enjoy drinks, desserts, and extravagant meals on vacation, but make sure every day has some balance. Make the choice to start the day with a healthy breakfast and eat a light lunch if you know you’ll be eating a decadent dinner. You can give some thought to your nutrition while away from home without completely denying yourself.

Overall we want you to enjoy yourself, we know that food is a way to connect with others, but there are small habits you can add to your holiday to ensure that you stay aligned with your goals.
